Eligibility and Information
To be eligible for either the Level 2 or Level 3 courses you should be aged 16 or over.
Be currently working in an early years setting as an employee or volunteer for a minimum of 300 hours throughout the course and preferably 350 hours.
Staff Ratio’s - Licence to Practice: Level 3
To be included as qualified in staff ratio’s, you should hold the following.
English qualification at min. Grade 4/(C) GCSE and/or Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent qualifications).
Rules are different for Nursery Managers. If you’re new to the role and/or changing jobs and don’t have Maths or English (as above), you will need to complete them within two years of starting the role.
In addition to the above, you will need to hold a PFA (Paediatric First Aid Certificate)
If you don't hold the above it will not prevent you from starting the course but to be included in staff ratio's as 'qualified', you will need to gain them.
